Yellow Is the Happiest Color

Yellow Is the Happiest Color - Sweet and Savoring

It’s finally happening: flowers are popping up! Yesterday’s warm sunny day could not have been more welcome.

I’m feeling lighter these days, more full of possibility and making myself busy busy busy, which is my favorite way to be. It’s when I’m in this positive place that I realize how much I don’t want to sit still, like in the winter time. I want to have plans and follow through on them. I want to see new things, eat new foods, have new experiences.

Happiness is being active. Happiness is the color yellow, seeing flowers blossoming everywhere, and the promise of all spring has to offer.

With the hope that I can give you a minute or two of happiness today, here are some of my favorite yellow nature photos:

Thanks- I thought that quote was perfect when I found it!

Beautiful photos! I think fresh flowers in general are happiness! I love seeing them in and around the house. 🙂

Thank you Jessica! Yes, flowers around the house make such a difference- it’s one of those supermarket ‘splurges’ that no one should feel guilty for!

They are beautiful. A spiritual healer once told me that to deal with motion sickness (which is really caused more by uncertainty, so he says) I should close my eyes and picture yellow.
    I swear it works!

Wow, what a cool tip. I’ve never heard of that before!

Yellow has often been my answer when asked ‘what is your favorite color?’ It makes me think of sunshine and happy times, too. My mother’s favorite flowers in her garden were probably bright yellow daffodils, I think, although there were lots of purple irises and another purple favorite, lilacs! Making sure we get exercise helps us to feel “sunshiney”, don’t you agree?

Ooh, now I want to get some purple flowers in our garden- we have sunflowers, marigolds & nasturtiums (not in the ground yet, of course!), and purple would be such a nice contrast!
Yes, exercise = more positive, lighter mood, etc, etc.

I LOVE this post! Yellow IS the happiest color. Yellow reminds me of sunshine and daffodils and sunflowers…all of which happen with warm weather, which, here in New England, we are sorely missing. If you happen to see the sun where you are, please send her north. 🙂

Seriously though…lovely pictures. You brought a smile to my heart.

I’m so glad you liked it, Kelly! Sometimes eastern NY is considered part of New England, right?? 🙂 The sun is trying today, but the clouds are definitely winning out, grrrrr.
