Sunday Travel: Signs & Stickers of Burlington, Vermont - Sweet and Savoring

Happy Sunday, friends! I thought we’d look at another ‘B’ place today: Burlington, Vermont!

Burlington is a great small city to walk around. It’s in northwestern Vermont and sits on the gorgeous Lake Champlain. Our afternoon there was a hot May day, and I found no shortage of great stickers and signs as we ambled away the afternoon:

I had never heard the term creemees for soft serve ice cream before!

And lastly, I don’t think this counts as a sign per se, but I love it. Any time I see a street number like this, it reminds me of Platform 9 3/4 from Harry Potter:

What’s your favorite picture? Have you ever been to Burlington?

I love the Henry’s Diner sign! I have four states left to visit – Vermont being one of them. What a great collection! Thank you for sharing.

Isn’t the Henry’s one great? Thanks for popping over, Heather. There’s a lot to do in Vermont and I hope you get to visit soon!

Great signs! The town really has a lot of nostalgia associated with it.

Thanks Carla! I especially like retro-style signs 🙂

We love Burlington. That Church Street marketplace area is fun to explore. I love What Ales You…so clever. It reminds me of a record store from the Little Five Points neighborhood of Atlanta that was named Criminal Records. So cute! And I have always loved Who Rescued Who because it’s so true…any animal lover will attest to that. Great post idea! 🙂 Have a wonderful week.

We walked through the marketplace, but it was suuuper crowded so it was a bit difficult to explore. We found more breathing room near the lake and in the arts district. And yes, I love clever signs that include a play on words, too! Thanks, Kelly!

Thanks Rachel! The ‘attention dogs’ one keeps on making me laugh, I love it.

I want a creemee very badly! I love Burlington. I flew in and out of the airport there for our wedding. And I visited back in my 20’s, on my way to find moose elsewhere. There are moose right in Burlington too. Cassidy went for work recently and I was so jealous!

You know, I didn’t even try a creemee! I think it’s because we’d had plenty of Ben & Jerry’s not too much earlier 😉 Oh man I *will* see moose at some point this summer, darn it!

That looks like such a cute little down! And I love the quote at the end (my husband is reading an F. Scott Fitzgerald book right now!)

Oh yes, there’s more to come on what we saw in Burlington so stay tuned, Liz!

What a great way to see a town through different eyes. Makes me want to head downtown here in my town and see what we can find.

Oh yes, I love this comment! Thanks for saying this, Rabia- you never know what might catch your eye if you look at things a bit differently!
