Let’s marinate on the wordΒ adventureΒ for a minute.
Adventure, as defined by Cambridge Dictionaries Online: an unusual, exciting, and possible dangerous activity, trip, or experience, or the excitement produced by such activities.Β
Do you seek adventure in your life? Do you give yourself credit for the adventures you take, whether big or small?
This trip to Maine wasn’t life-changing, nor was it dangerous or risky. But itΒ was exciting, in its own little ways. I love that I made it happen. I love that I woke up in a beautiful B&B on my birthday.
Later that day, we went to one of only three bridge tower observatories in the world, and the only one in North America. I’d say that’s a bit of an adventure.

The Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory, in Prospect, Maine. Unique bridge and great views from the top of the tower!
We left New York on Wednesday and came back last night. I have so much to share with you! It was quite the adventure, as I feel any sort of travel is.
More Maine love to come soon, friends! I hope you’re all having a lovely start to your week.
Ooohhh, I love adventures! That observatory sounds exciting. Can’t wait to hear more about your Birthday adventure π
Yes, I can’t believe after all my trips to Maine that I’d never heard of the observatory before now!
That bridge looks incredible. Adding that to my list of things to do in Maibe, which is one of my absolute favorite places in New England.

I had no idea that observatory existed. Adding it to my list. π Can’t wait to hear about your new adventure!

I didn’t either, until my dad emailed me a bunch of suggestions a week ago. So funny!
Love your photos! Looks like lovely travel π
Thank you Liz π It was so much fun, I wish we were still there!
Oooh, I can’t wait to hear more about your trip! I’ve never been to Maine but I’ve heard great things! (I wanted to go to a summer camp located there when I was younger — that’s where they filmed that Disney reality TV program, Bug Juice!) π

Oh there’s so much to see and do in Maine! I’ve been there for more trips than any state- and seven times with Andy!- and we never run out of options. I love returning to favorites places and finding new towns to explore. We probably have 1,000 photos between us from this trip alone, so there are plenty to share!
I adore an adventure. Lately I’d been feeling somewhat trapped, so I took a little impromptu roadtrip up to Austin, Texas. It helped restore those wanderlusty feelings. Since I’ve gotten home, I’ve been trying to find the adventure in normal non-dangerous, every day aspects of life! Adventure is out there. I’ve just got to find it! I hope your trip was lovely x
Ooh I’ve never been to Austin! How was it? I’m glad a little impromptu trip helped, I can totally relate!
Awesome post! I love adventure as well! I can find it locally too….sometimes at the mall lol.

Thanks Carolann! Ha! You never know what you might find at the mall π
Beautiful, fun adventure, to be sure! Now, I really have to put the Observatory on the Penobscot Narrows Bridge on the must-see list! So happy you enjoyed your exploration, the beautiful Timbercliff Cottage bed and breakfast, and walks across Little River’s dam too! It makes me that much more ready to get back there in a few weeks! As Tristan would say, “I wanna go back to MAINE!”
Yes, I’m glad Dad suggested the observatory or we probably wouldn’t have gone. I’m pretty sure we left the house all clean and shiny for your next visit π
I can’t wait for more Maine! My favorite.
That canopy bed looks like heaven.
So happy you had a wonderful, mostly unplugged trip to Maine. I’m waiting for one of my own.
I think the canopy bed exceeded our expectations and then some. Oh, one night was just too quick of a stay!
Thank you Tamara! I hope you have a relaxing Maine trip soon!
Omg! I was just in Camden, Maine as well this past weekend! Can’t wait to read more of your adventure!
So funny! I am reading your post right now! π
Awww, I want more!! π I’m definitely following through. I love going through your travel photos and stories as always (the frustrated traveler in me again). Hehe. That bridge observatory is awesome!
Happy to provide more and thank you for your sweet words, Rea! More coming tomorrow!
Maine is so beautiful! I haven’t been there in eons but I would love to go back!

I admit I’m biased since my family has a second home up there, but yes, it’s beautiful! π
