Gratitude

Recognizing the Bounty

September 17, 2012

Quick in-between post before I start my day 🙂

This morning I’m thinking about blessings. As hippy-dippy as it sounds, and as much as I shake my head, marveling, the Universe really does provide the right things at the right time. Yesterday, I was unexpectedly gifted a grocery bagful of assorted food: walnuts, organic peanut butter, whole wheat wraps, fruit…all things I would buy normally, and some in fact that I’ve been meaning to buy (walnuts for pesto!). Thank you, Emily and Matt! My darling friend Ellen was another source of blessings: a bunch of clothes that she was giving away, plus some arm warmers, a scarf, shoes, and a few books (I am a firm believe in never having too many books!). Ellen, I am so blessed to have you in my life, and for all the gifts you have given me, both tangible and intangible.

Have you experienced any bounty lately, or practiced gratitude?

I’m grateful for my husband. We’ve had some trials and tribulations lately but he’s always the strong one, the practical one, the reasonable one, whereas I tend to be a bit dramatic. Never take loved ones for granted.

I have a sweet neighbor who always brings me a big bag of arugula from her garden. I am grateful that she thinks of me and for the yummy salads I make with it!

Aren’t thoughtful people and free food such a great combination?! Thanks for your comment!
