From Away

September 7, 2012

Check out those textures! And the cloud reflections in the water! My hubby is talented 🙂

Greetings, dear readers!

It’s been an interesting two weeks trying to get into the swing of school again.  I’m hoping there will be more of a rhythm to my posting once all the dust has settled and I get a sort of routine established (ha! that’ll be the day).

A tomatillo in my friends’ garden, just because. That thing was delicious.

Right now, I’m up in Maine (I know, again!), to see one of my dearest friends get married.  Erin and I met in 2008 when we both worked at the Omega Institute, and have been both kindred spirits and, rather unfortunately, separated by various states ever since.  She: a baker by trade and talented seamstress by passion, with penchants for all things pink, vintage and orderly. Me: a some-time photographer/child minder/model, current pre-nursing student, with penchants for procrastinating, all things orange, and oh yes, vintage anything. Why wouldn’t we get along swimmingly?

We met up in NYC the following two winters. This was in early 2010 at a Chelsea flea market. You know you wish you could hang out with us.

July 2010: Before relocating to Maine, she passed through Omega. I was kind of glad to see her, I guess…

Most recently, during our quick Portland visit in July <3

Can’t wait to share the details from the wedding- along with the requisite tantalizing food photos, of course 🙂

Also, please check out my Sweet and Savoring Facebook page for more fun photos and links.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love this post. And I love our short picture chronicle. It brings back the sweetest of memories. (especially that one in the omega cart).

It was fun putting it together- I was looking at more from ’08 today- remember that shot of you in the kitchen with the ‘enjoy everything’ faux coca-cola shirt? I told Andy he should make a replacement…we shall see 🙂

I am looking forward to our yet-to-be-planned meetup in boston in the near future!
